Job summary

Toyota Boshoku America in Indiana seeks a Production Team Leader – Nights to drive safety, quality, efficiency and cost reduction. You will guide a production team, develop standardized work, and promote continuous improvement while training staff and coordinating shift communications.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent leadership experience, strong organization, and proficiency with MS Office. It is a full-time, on-site position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Management or related manufacturing field, or 3+ years of leadership in production.
• Experience leading a production/manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a production team with emphasis on teamwork, safety, training, and discipline.
• Develop and document standardized work sequences for processes.
• Promote safety, quality, productivity, and cost-improvement projects.
• Maintain training matrix and ensure effective training.
• Collaborate to improve processes, eliminate waste, and standardize methods.
• Train new team members and mentor until proficient.
• Demonstrate proactive supervision and lead by example.
• Predict abnormalites and implement innovative solutions.
• Coach team members on quality improvement activities.
• Conduct production readiness checks and post-shift verifications.
• Use KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor daily production performance.
• Coordinate communications between shifts.
• Foster trust and teamwork in employee relations.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel/Word) required.

Position Summary

Responsible for meeting plant targets for safety, quality, efficiency and cost reduction.

Essential Job Functions

• Leads a production team emphasizing teamwork, safety, training and discipline.
• Assist in the development of standardized work procedures by designing and/or documenting the best work sequence for each process.
• Promote safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
• Assist in maintaining training matrix, assuring training is effective and correcting substandard performance.
• Work with team to improve standardized processes/methods, identify waste, methodically eliminate waste and standardize the new process/methods.
• Train new team members by breaking down standardized work and being a resource for assistance until job is mastered.
• Shows positive supervisory skills by actively nurturing staff and leading by example.
• Be proactive in predicting abnormalities and finding innovative solutions to correct
• Direct and facilitate quality improvement activities as coach or mentor to the team members
• Perform production readiness confirmation and post shift checks
• Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.
• Daily production performance tracking
• Coordinates communications between shifts
• Develops employee relations centered on trust and teamwork
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.
• Strong organization and planning skills required

Education and/or Experience

• Associates degree in Management or related Manufacturing field; or equivalent 3+ years of experience in production/manufacturing environment leadership EOE
