The Haldex team in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Team Leader to supervise distribution warehouse staff through receiving, storage, and shipping operations. You will lead by example, coach peers, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Responsibilities include scheduling work, issuing instructions, training employees, maintaining accurate records, and developing SAP S/4HANA knowledge to monitor workflow and resolve process issues with the team.

Qualifications

Summary

Supervises, trains and coordinates activities of distribution warehouse employees concerned with tasks associated with the warehouse operation from receiving through shipment.

As a Team Leader at Haldex, you are expected to lead by Haldex’ values.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Train new and existing employees
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.
  • Verify at the end of each shift that all equipment is properly shut down, housekeeping has been performed and any other activities required for shift ending are completed.
  • Conducts regular safety walks and reports any observations, near misses, compliance gaps to the shift supervisor.
  • Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA warehouse processes through an initial period of intensive, hands-on learning and daily system use. Uses that knowledge to monitor workflow, verify transaction accuracy, identify and troubleshoot routine process issues, support employees, elevate unresolved system or operational concerns to the appropriate support team, and assist with implementing corrective actions.

As Team Leader at Haldex you have the duty and responsibility for your own and your team’s actions, meeting deliverables and objectives. You are also responsible to develop and confirm your team member’s competence by reactively and proactively train and coach on how and why to work efficiently and effectively. Actively manage and participate in self-development and the development of your team and cross-functional work, establishing organizational and process changes. Monitor and support the team’s and processes performance, addressing deviations or communicate need for support. You are expected and have authority to temporarily stop any work or processes if safety, environment or quality is at risk.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
