Job description

About the Team

The Outside Sales team has been the face of DoorDash to our merchant partners since our founding in 2013. Stationed locally, this team creates deep partnerships with the most coveted local and regional restaurants in any given geography. Our Outside Sales team is the revenue driving arm of DoorDash and ensures the growth of our SMB partnerships which help strengthen operations, accelerate consumer growth, and improve our bottom line.

About the Role

We are looking for a Team Lead to join our Outside Sales team who will play a key role in building our business across the region. We’re looking for someone with deep market knowledge and excellent working relationships within the region who is inspired to bring their experience, passion and skills to make an impact in the community and continue to build our sales team. You will ensure we maximize our efforts through managing and coaching our local sales team while also carrying an individual quota. This role is the ultimate player‑coach.

You will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager of the region, who will cultivate your growth, and provide you with broader strategy and support to lead alongside your team. This is a hybrid role with some time traveling in the region meeting with merchants and some time remote. In addition, this role will require the ability to travel as needed for in‑person collaboration through trainings, offsites, team‑building events, and other business related necessity.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Be a great people leader - Assess the strengths and development areas of your team and manage them accordingly; you will also operate at the lowest level of detail in signing up new merchants on your own. You will play a supporting role to direct reports in many different ways- from prospecting the top new restaurant groups to sourcing the decision maker, to creating the sales deck and helping with the close.
  • Be an Owner - You will be able to not only guide the team efforts, but also lead by example. Field days, pitch practice, and doing what it takes to help your team hit your targets is essential in this role.
  • There is no task too small - Our Team Leads will set the team up for success and lead by example. The team lead will be the ultimate player coach who signs the top merchants to lead by example, and also coaches their team members to close deals as well.
  • Collaborate - You will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager in the region to prioritize regions and cuisine types, train your team on new products and business updates, and will help your team approach lead lists, exceed effective targets, and directly contribute to the expansion into new markets and services.
We’re excited about you because…
  • You meet the application requirements:
  • Eligibility: Please review DoorDash Internal Mobility requirements to determine eligibility and any additional requirements that are unique to your organization
  • Attainment: 100%+ to goal over the last 3 quarters.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or training sales reps to be top performers - preferably on outside sales teams
  • of leading front-line sales reps and leaders with a preference for leading outside sales teams.
  • Location/Travel: Anywhere in the Southeast or Northwest regions with emphasis on traveling in‑market
