Job summary

DocuSign is seeking a senior Python backend engineer to drive design and delivery of scalable services. You will mentor teams, architect RESTful APIs, and shape distributed systems in an Agile environment. Deep expertise in SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud, and DevOps practices will be essential.

You will work across enterprise SaaS backend applications, ensure security and performance, and guide architecture decisions from design to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• Around 10+ years of experience in Python backend development, with 4-5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in Python, Django, FastAPI, or Flask, along with solid knowledge of OOP, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, Microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis, with expertise in database design and query optimisation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and DevOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong knowledge of system design, distributed systems, scalability, security best practices, caching, and API performance optimisation.
• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-grade or SaaS backend applications in Agile environments.
