  • Experience with frequency drives, OT networks, and cyber security; motion-compensated systems is a plus.
  • People management experience
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the control systems team, ensuring efficient structure, clear task delegation, and continuous performance improvement.
  • Own and deliver robust control system solutions through close collaboration with cross-functional teams (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, R&D, and product owners).
  • Define and optimize engineering workflows, tools, strategies, and ensure high-quality software and documentation management.
  • Design and develop complex control systems for offshore and marine equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, hydraulics, OT networks, and cybersecurity.
  • Support full project lifecycle activities, including concept development, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, service support, and contribution to product innovation.

PALFINGER Marine Norway Offshore Cranes, Winches, Handling and Access Equipment (OC & WHA) group are strengthen the engineering team with a team leader position for the control system department.

The team consists of control system / automation engineers sitting in Bergen (Norway) and Gdynia (Poland) who are involved in the equipment’s entire life cycle, from developing new equipment and solutions, working directly in projects, supporting production, testing, commissioning and service. The position is in the Bergen office located at Nesttun. The team leader reports directly to the OC & WHA Engineering manager.

Join our Engineering team in Bergen (Nesttun) and lead a skilled group of Control System & Automation Engineers across Norway and Poland. As Team Lead, you will manage people, drive technical solutions, and contribute hands‑on to cutting‑edge offshore and marine equipment development.
