Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Lead, IT Support who will coordinate a regional team delivering high‑quality IT services to multiple facilities. The role covers service desk leadership, incident handling, and project delivery across the region in a fast‑paced tech environment.

You’ll drive operational excellence, mentor staff, and collaborate with Infrastructure, Launch and Cybersecurity teams to strengthen partnerships while maintaining IT policies and security standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a support or service role with progressive responsibility and a STEM related bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (9+ years total).
• Some leadership experience, even informal, like mentoring or training others.
• Hands-on experience with ITSM tools like Jira, ServiceNow or similar, and experience in following a framework for service delivery such as ITIL.
• Extensive technical expertise and proficiency in at least 4 of the following areas: Windows and Linux desktops, PC hardware, Active Directory/Group Policy, at least one scripting language, Microsoft 365, networking, virtualization/cloud.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Service Desk operations for a region, leading a team of IT Support staff.
• Manage ticket queue, prioritize, ensure timely resolutions and SLA compliance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide hands-on support for critical incidents.
• Provide clear directions to the team and align with organizational goals.
• Lead regional IT projects and document policies, procedures, and processes.
• Partner with site leadership and ensure ITAR/EAR and security policy compliance.
