Job Summary

This position supervises and participates in daily shift activity in the assigned Radiology discipline. The role involves management functions delegated by the area Manager or Director. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all encounters with patients, families, visitors, and staff, regardless of cultural background.

Job Description
  1. Oversees staff regarding proper use and function of software systems; performs or delegates QA, QC, CQI data collection per JCAHO requirements.
  2. Performs duties of staff or technologist in the assigned discipline.
  3. Ensures safety protocols are followed in compliance with medical, state, and federal standards, demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills.
  4. Obtains and records patient data as required; ensures proper billing, coding, and modifiers are accurate.
  5. Assigns daily work to staff and ensures quality of procedures.
  6. Prepares staff schedules to minimize overtime and ensure coverage.
  7. Assists in employee evaluations and ensures ongoing skills and competency requirements are met; acts as a coach/mentor and supports education and training.
  8. May assist in hiring and initiate disciplinary actions with management approval.
  9. Reports equipment malfunctions and follows up to ensure safety and functionality.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses
  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiological Technology program and/or ARRT registered.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • State Licensure: Kentucky (KBMIRT Radiation Operators License) or Indiana (ISDH License Radiologic Technologist).
Knowledge and Experience
  • Good organizational skills and knowledge of Radiology Department functions.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Radiology or a related modality.
