Job summary

JSW Steel Limited is seeking an experienced Environmental and Safety Plant Specialist to lead daily crew activities and ensure compliance with HSE policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements at our facility in Kentucky.

The role oversees environmental systems operations, emergency coordination, waste management, and maintenance execution across air and water treatment infrastructure, with hands-on support for mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily crew activities to maintain strict compliance with HSE policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee routine monitoring, operation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of air pollution control, water treatment, and industrial utilities infrastructure.
• Serve as Plant Emergency Coordinator and lead emergency response teams during incidents, executing site contingency plans as required.
• Coordinate facility waste handling, RCRA/DOT manifesting, vacuum truck operations, and hazardous material shipping in compliance with regulations.
• Provide hands-on participation and support in mechanical maintenance tasks across environmental systems and equipment.

Job description

• Crew Leadership & Safety Oversight: Direct daily crew activities to maintain strict compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Environmental Systems Operations: Oversee the routine monitoring, operation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of critical air pollution control, water treatment and industrial utilities infrastructure.
• Emergency Coordination: Serve as a Plant Emergency Coordinator and emergency response team lead during HSE incidents, leading containment efforts and executing site contingency plans as required.
• Waste Management & Logistics: Coordinate facility waste handling, RCRA/DOT manifesting, vacuum truck operations, and hazardous material shipping activities in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Maintenance Execution: Hands-on participation and support in executing general mechanical maintenance tasks across environmental systems and equipment.
