Job summary

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking a CNC Operator for the E shift (Mon-Thu 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) in a warehouse/production environment.

You will audit process control documents, enforce safety and quality policies, and coordinate training while supporting production goals and changeovers. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 5 years of manufacturing experience with strong reading/writing and math skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience, preferably with equipment assembly or high-speed operation.
  • Reading and writing ability to follow work orders and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines.
  • Good visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and verify process control documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Enforce safety and quality policies; ensure clean and organized production areas.
  • Coordinate training activities and audit effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot process issues to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor equipment and diagnose abnormalities; support changeover activities.
  • Record process settings and maintenance of equipment verification sheets.

Shift/s available:

E shift Monday - Thursday 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Audit/verify process control documents for completion and accuracy.
  • Enforce all organizational initiatives, to include safety and quality policies.
  • Coordinate training activities and audit effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot process issues as a means of mitigating downtime.
  • Ensure production areas are safe, neat, clean, and well organized.
  • Coordinate changeover activities and audit for accuracy and accountability purposes.
  • Respect work hours, support production goals and timetables, which may require overtime.
  • Ensures the following:
  • Utilizing knowledge of ISO14001 & TS16949 ensures all associates follow procedures and work instructions
  • All production, scrap, and down time reports are completed properly and timely.
  • Product and/or component dimensions are checked via in-process inspection check sheets with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
  • Equipment is monitored for unusual sounds, movements or appearance that may indicate problems. Addresses any abnormalities.
  • Monitors changing of simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
  • Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
  • Accuracy of recording of process equipment settings and conditions using equipment verification check sheets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Five (5) years manufacturing experience with preference in equipment assembly or high-speed equipment operation.
  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Sufficient Manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts products.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent standing and walking.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, push, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere from 10 to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
