Position Summary
Shift: Friday through Monday, 6:00am-5:00pm.
The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned to them on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the associates dedicated to the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area in a manner that supports company service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training Responsibilities:
- Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to help achieve established customer demands.
- Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
- Assist in forklift operation and certification for associates.
Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments per highest productivity standards. Verify required paperwork with drivers.
- Efficiently and accurately load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers.
- Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions as defined by Standard Operating Procedures.
- Research discrepancies that may occur in shipping and receiving.
Customer Service:
- Maintain a professional appearance and communications.
- Communicate with customers via telephone, email, or in person as needed.
- Prepare required activity reports accurately for site management.
Quality Control Responsibilities:
- Use documentation to ensure all product and orders are received or shipped correctly and accurately picked.
- Verify products meet quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, and handle packaging tasks.
- Process all quality control functions as per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report inconsistencies to Operations Supervisor or Manager and participate in quality meetings.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:
- Comply with ISO standards, safety protocols, and OSHA/ MSDS Standards.
- Execute safety protocols and promote a safe work environment.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and assist in security.
- Participate in safety meetings.
Labor Management:
- Direct operations of the warehouse work team to achieve objectives.
- Assist associates and temporary labor with productivity sheets and payroll hours.
- Help maintain consistent employee level for productivity.
- Participate in scheduling and ensure jobs are assigned and completed correctly.
Responsibility and Authority:
- Participate in department meetings.
- Initiate action to prevent non-conformities and report them to the Quality Department.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack.
- Maintain and report equipment problems, perform daily inspections, and maintain forklift certification.
Maintenance:
- Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties:
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and record keeping.
- Work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Work overtime as mandated by business.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
- Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE).
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience with RF scanners.
- Knowledge of WMS functions.
Language Skills:
- English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills:
- Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities and counting inventory.
Other:
- Strong attention to detail and timely task completion.
- Perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication with all organizational levels.
- Adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4 years experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- 2-4 years of proven forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
Physical Demands
- Hand & finger manipulation, sitting, handling product and packaging materials.
- Bending, walking, standing.
- Ability to lift/carry 21-50 pounds, reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Work Environment
The job is performed in a warehouse environment with low to moderate noise. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals is rare.

Compensation
Expected base pay range: $23.50 - $23.50. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
