Job summary

Baptist Health Care’s Cardiac Device Technician team is seeking a Team Lead in Pensacola, FL to manage device software updates, patient device checks, and team guidance. Qualifications

  • 2 years device experience with Cardiology required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification upon hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and triages daily transmission and alerts from remote monitoring platforms.
  • Identifies critical arrhythmias, battery depletion, and lead integrity issues and escalates urgent findings to electrophysiologists in real time.
  • Instructs patients and families on device checks and home transmitter use; enters information into device software.
  • Tracks regulatory/compliance items for device advisories and recalls.
  • Answers patient calls and requests promptly.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies efficiently and appropriately.
  • Maintains patient charts and departmental data; provides information as required.
  • Maintains current knowledge/certification and pursues professional growth.
  • Ensures device software is updated with new technology/device information.
  • Performs monthly quality review on processes for technicians.
  • Trains new device team members.

Job description

The Team Lead - Cardiac Device Technician maintains device software information with the latest updates to technology and patient information. The position is responsible for obtaining accurate information recorded for new implants and modified hardware. The position evaluates patients' device needs for the office and coordinates care.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews and triages daily transmission and alerts from remote monitoring platforms
  • Identifies critical arrhythmias, battery depletion, and lead integrity issues. Escalates urgent or life-threatening findings directly to electrophysiologists in real time.
  • Accurately instructs patients and/or family members regarding device checks, pulse taking and use of home transmitter. Accurately enters information into device software platform confirming all reports.
  • Tracks regulatory/compliance items for device advisories and recalls.
  • Answers patient’s calls and requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies efficiently and appropriately.
  • Maintains patient charts and other departmental data, preparing and providing information as required/requested.
  • Maintains current knowledge/certification and pursues professional growth and development.
  • Ensures device software is updated with new technology/device information.
  • Performs monthly quality review on process for technicians.
  • Trains all new device team members.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • 2 years Device experience with Cardiology. Required


Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively through written and/or verbal communication.
  • Ability to file numerically and alphabetically.
  • Knowledge of Basic ECG Rhythm recognition (normal & abnormal functions).
  • Knowledge of various pacemakers/implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD)/implantable loop recorder (ILR) and remote systems.
