Job summary

tado° is seeking a Team Lead Accounting to head a 3-person team, owning end-to-end accounting operations and monthly/annual closings. You will liaise with auditors, drive compliance for VAT and corporate taxes across Germany, Austria, and other regions, and push process improvements using systems like NetSuite.

The role requires strong leadership, German and English fluency, and hands-on accounting expertise.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of HGB/UGB and VAT regulations
• NetSuite experience and leadership exposure is a plus
• Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting department with 3 team members from Junior to Senior
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and month/ year closings
• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements (HGB/UGB, IFRS potential)
• Coordinate and prepare tax returns for domestic and foreign entities
• Handle internal and external reporting requests, incl. sustainability
• Drive process improvements and maintain internal controls
• Coach and develop the accounting team and collaborate with Controlling

To continue our growth, we are looking for a dedicated Team Lead Accounting (m/f/d) who combines hands-on accounting expertise with strong ownership and enjoys actively shaping the future of accounting processes.

Your Impact:

• You'll lead the Accounting department with 3 team members from Junior to Senior and directly report to the Head of Finance.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/ receivable and fixed assets, and ensure timely and accurate monthly/ annual financial closings.
• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements (individual and group) in accordance with HGB and UGB (prospective maybe IFRS too), act as point of contact for auditors.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations by coordinating and preparing tax returns (e. g. VAT, corporate tax, etc.) for domestic and foreign companies (Germany, Austria, UK, France, Italy), as well as ongoing assessment of tax issues in consultation with tax advisors.
• Take care of reporting requests from our stakeholders (e. g. sustainability).
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, e. g. with platforms like Amazon, and internal controls.
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team with your experience and expertise for ensuring high quality results.
• Collaborate closely with Controlling and other departments.

What makes you a great fit:

• A completed commercial education or a business-related Bachelor's degree, with 6+ years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (e. g. HGB, UGB) and VAT regulations
• NetSuite (Oracle) knowledge and first leadership experience is an advantage
• Confident Microsoft Office, especially Excel, User
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented working style complemented by hands on mentality
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong drive to learn and adapt
