Job summary

La Petite Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia, is seeking a Team Lead to inspire children and support families. You will promote the growth of children, manage classroom activities, and mentor other teachers in a positive and fun environment.

Ideal candidates have experience in childcare facilities and hold credits in Early Childhood Education or a CDA. Flexible schedules, a childcare discount, and ongoing training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Able to work indoors or outdoors with children.

Team Lead Responsibilities

• Teacher – Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children in your care. Take the lead on classroom management and curriculum implementation. Classroom instruction is at least 50% of weekly schedule.
• Communicator – Communicate and build relationships with families to promote achievement for the child and to support your center’s success.
• Mentor – Be responsible for, or assist with, the management, training, and mentoring of new hires and your fellow Teachers, as you create fun, interactive learning experiences to share with the preschool children.
• Leader – Take on the duties of Director or Assistant Director in their absence, including opening and closing the school.
• Expert – Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom, and implementing lesson plans.
• College credits towards Early Childhood Education or Child Development degree or a CDA, preferred.
• The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
