Job summary

WashU Car Wash is seeking a Team Lead to drive shift operations, coach a growing team, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You'll lead by example, balance service and sales goals, and promote premium memberships while ensuring safety and efficiency on site in Niles, IL.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership, retail, hospitality, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to motivate and coach a team during busy shifts.
• Strong customer service focus with professional demeanor.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shift operations and help the team meet performance goals.
• Model excellent customer service and professionalism to set the pace.
• Coach teammates on service, sales, and operational expectations.
• Promote Unlimited Wash Club memberships and premium services.
• Field customer questions and resolve concerns quickly and professionally.
• Open or close the site as assigned.
• Monitor wash equipment and communicate maintenance needs.
• Keep the facility clean, safe, and organized for customers and staff.
• Track sales, memberships, vehicle counts, and shift activities.
• Support inventory management and daily operational tasks; foster a positive, energetic environment.

Team Lead - WashU Car Wash

Location: Niles, IL
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Compensation: $16-$18 per hour plus performance incentives and commission (earning potential of $21+ per hour)

What You'll Be Responsible For

Every shift is different, but your focus will always be on creating a great experience for both customers and team members.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading daily shift operations and helping the team meet performance goals
• Setting the pace by modeling excellent customer service and professionalism
• Coaching team members on service, sales, and operational expectations
• Promoting Unlimited Wash Club memberships and premium services
• Assisting with customer questions and resolving concerns quickly and professionally
• Opening or closing the site when assigned
• Monitoring wash equipment and communicating maintenance needs
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility for customers and employees
• Tracking operational metrics such as sales, memberships, vehicle counts, and shift activities
• Supporting inventory management and daily operational tasksCreating a positive, energetic environment where teammates can succeed

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Stays calm and organized during busy periods
• Provides exceptional customer service while balancing operational priorities
• Has previous leadership, retail, hospitality, restaurant, or customer service experience (preferred but not required)
• Is dependable, punctual, and willing to work weekends and holidays
• Can comfortably work outdoors and remain active throughout the shift
• Is able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks as part of normal job duties

No previous car wash experience? That's okay. We'll provide the training, coaching, and support needed to help you become a successful leader.
