The successful candidate will produce production-ready drawings, maintain CAD content, and support design reviews while adhering to company standards and documentation practices. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is required.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks proficiency required; produce production-ready models and assemblies.
• Ability to create clean 2D drawings with proper tolerances and annotations.
• Some college coursework or 2-year degree preferred; strong documentation skills with MS Office.

Responsabilités

• Create, modify, and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks with emphasis on accuracy and documentation standards.
• Produce and manage basic AutoCAD drawings with proper layer usage, tolerancing, and annotation conventions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to interpret design intent and translate it into CAD content.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, parts lists, and assembly structures within SolidWorks and related systems.
• Assist in creating technical documentation, specifications, and ECNs.
• Support design reviews by providing CAD models and drawings; incorporate feedback and iterate.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter to join our applications engineering group. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and documentation of our applications by producing accurate, production-ready drawings and models. This role focuses on SolidWorks-driven development and collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into precise technical artifacts.

Job Duties

• Create, modify, and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks with a strong emphasis on accuracy, manufacturability, and documentation standards.
• Produce and manage basic AutoCAD drawings, ensuring proper layer usage, tolerancing, and annotation conventions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to interpret design intent and translate it into deliverable CAD content.
• Develop and maintain bill of materials (BOMs), parts lists, and assembly structures within SolidWorks and related systems.
• Assist in the creation of technical documentation, specifications, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
• Support design reviews by providing timely, precise cad models and drawings; incorporate feedback and iterate quickly.
• Ensure CAD data and documentation comply with company standards, CAD library conventions, and project requirements.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for data management, reporting, and correspondence.
• Maintain organized project files, version control, and data integrity across the engineering team.

Experience and Education

• Some college coursework and/or a 2-year degree is preferred.
• High proficiency in SolidWorks modeling and drafting is REQUIRED.
• Demonstrated ability to create clean, production-ready models and assemblies with proper dimensions, tolerances, and annotations.
• Basic AutoCAD skills sufficient for creating and editing 2D drawings.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, data analysis, and presentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team environment and document decisions clearly.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.

Competencies/ Skills

• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) concepts, modeling, or analysis workflows.
• Experience with electrical field modeling or related simulation tools.
• Experience with data management systems, PLM, or ERP integration related to CAD data.
