Job summary

The West Seneca Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Teaching Assistant at the Elementary level. This is a full-time, probationary appointment for a position supporting students in an elementary classroom setting.

The successful candidate will help create a safe, stimulating learning environment, model positive behavior, and support students in reaching their potential. Certification and elementary experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS Teaching Assistant certification.
• Experience in an elementary classroom setting preferred.
• Full-time, probationary appointment with salary/benefits per district agreement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and preparation with classroom teachers to provide instructional supports.
• Support positive behavior and classroom management using PBIS strategies.
• Utilize Google Classroom and related apps to enhance instructional delivery.
• Interpret and analyze data to support student learning and progress.

Job Summary

The West Seneca Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Teaching Assistant at the Elementary level. This is a full-time, probationary appointment for a position supporting students in an elementary classroom setting.

Primary Function

The Teaching Assistant is responsible for helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment and to assist every student in reaching his/her potential. The Teacher Assistant is to act as a positive role model for students and to strive for quality and promote pride in all District endeavors and to fulfill the Mission of the District.

The Teaching Assistant job description is based on the Criteria for Effective Teaching (CET) and will include the following domains/factors:

1. Planning and preparation; collaborating with classroom teachers to provide instructional supports
2. Knowledge of PBIS and implementing positive, effective management strategies
3. Experience utilizing Google Classroom, including a variety of applications to enhance instructional delivery
4. Interpreting and analyzing data

Salary & Benefits

The vacancy is a full-time (1.0 FTE), probationary position effective immediately. Salary and benefits (Health & Dental), paid according to the West Seneca Teachers Association collective bargaining agreement, will be offered to the selected candidate.

The successful candidate must hold NYS certification. Experience in an elementary classroom setting is preferred but not required.

Teaching Assistant (Levels I; II; or III) or certification in a NYS Part 30 tenure area
