Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking an Assistant Teacher/Apprentice Teacher at its Forest Heights Lower School location. This role supports the lead teacher in implementing Core Knowledge curriculum and offers mentorship to develop teaching skills within a classical, liberal arts primary-school setting.

The position is non-exempt and hourly, with opportunities for growth into lead teacher roles at other campuses.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Some locations may require AA, 60 college credits, or ParaPro.
• US work authorization is required.

Position Title: Assistant Teacher/Apprentice Teacher

**Teaching Assistant and Apprentice Teacher rolesat Great Hearts:**

• As a K-5 Teaching Assistant, you support the lead teacher in the implementation of a rich Core Knowledge curriculum. A bachelor's degree is notrequiredfor this role.

• As an Apprentice Teacher, you function as a second teacher in the classroom, without shouldering the burden of all planning, grading/evaluation, parent communications

• Through mentorship with a Master Teacher, you learn the craft of teaching in a classical, liberal arts primary-school environment.

• Many of our ATs become lead teachers at either lower or upper schools (assuming a bachelor's degree)
