Job summary

TrulyHired in Exeter, NH seeks an Automotive Technologies Assistant to support teachers and students in the shop and classroom. You will help supervise student work, set up tools, and assist with lesson delivery under the principal's guidance.

Responsibilities include organizing equipment, assisting with lab activities, coordinating with instructors, and ensuring safety standards are followed during hands-on projects and inspections.

Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
  • High School diploma, additional education is preferred.
  • NH State Inspection License is a plus.
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Position

Under the general supervision of the Principal and Assistant Principal, serve as additional support to the Automotive Technologies program, teachers, and students.

Essential Job Functions
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with teachers, students, other work personnel, and parents.
  • Supervise and verify student work on customer cars, ensuring that proper procedures and safety standards are followed.
  • Arrive to work as scheduled, demonstrating punctuality, dependability, and personnel hygiene.
  • Perform torque checks on wheels, drain plugs, and oil filters.
  • Comply with personnel policies, student rights, and Exeter Cooperative School District policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ordering parts and managing inventory.
  • Function independently, demonstrate flexibility and personal integrity.
  • Organize and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Assist in implementing lesson plans as provided by the classroom teacher.
  • Carry out extra duties of the classroom teacher such as lab setup.
  • Continually communicate with the classroom teacher.
  • Demonstrate genuine concern for the students.

  • Keep students informed of schedules and expectations.
Additional Duties
  • Utilize automotive tools and equipment as necessary.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Equipment
  • Use of standard automotive equipment and tools.
  • Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel to school district buildings as required.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
  • Works in standard office, school building environments, and automotive shop settings.
  • Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
Qualifications Profile
