Job summary

The Niskayuna Central School District is seeking an anticipated probationary-track Teaching Assistant for the 2026/2027 school year. Assignment: Van Antwerp Middle School; Computer Lab; 10 months per year; 30 hours per week.

Certification: NYS Teaching Assistant Certification preferred; exceptional candidates without certification may be employed as Substitute Teaching Assistant (up to 40 school days) until certification is obtained.

Qualifications

• New York State Teaching Assistant Certification preferred.
• Exceptional candidates without certification will be considered for employment as a Substitute Teaching Assistant (for a maximum of 40 school days) until certification is obtained.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the computer lab at Van Antwerp Middle School and provide general teaching assistant support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teaching Assistant Certification preferred. Minimum requirements for certification include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• New York State Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills (ATAS) test
• Completion of workshops in: Child Abuse Identification, School Violence, and Dignity for All Students (DASA)
