Job summary

Chester County School District is seeking a Paraprofessional/Teaching Assistant to support certificated teachers by working with students in small groups or one-on-one. The role includes supervising students, assisting with instructional activities, and handling clerical tasks.

Candidates must meet education requirements (2-year degree, 60 college hours, or pass Paraprofessional exam) and have a willingness to collaborate in a classroom setting. Experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 year college degree in any area, or 60 hours of college work, or passing score on the Paraprofessional exam required.
• Ability-based competencies include communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; setting priorities; teamwork.
• Ability to schedule activities; collate data; work with diverse data and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments to reinforce concepts and goals.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations to gather or share information relevant to job functions.
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans to support teacher and student progress.
• Maintain classroom equipment, records, attendance, and materials to ensure availability and accuracy.
• Monitor students in various settings to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• Perform clerical tasks such as copying, grading, attendance, and phone calls.
