UW-Stout in Wisconsin is seeking four Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor candidates to develop a Master’s in Social Work, align curriculum with CSWE accreditation, and lead program initiatives. Job Duties: The Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Human Services is actively expanding their department and developing a master’s in Social Work degree and seeking candidates for four Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor positions. These grant-funded, full-time, 9-month academic year positions, with opportunity for summer work/teaching may begin as soon as January 2027. Faculty in these positions will initially give primary focus on curriculum development, CSWE accreditation alignment. We are seeking candidates for leadership roles within the program to assist in the development of a part-time hybrid MSW program along with teaching within similar disciplines. Upon successful program launching, the faculty responsibilities will transition to a four-four teaching load during the academic year with opportunities for scholarship and service responsibilities, and opportunities for summer teaching for the remainder of the grant. These positions are non-tenure track, reviewed annually with the intention to renew, contingent on grant funding, through September 2031. At culmination of grant funding and depending on program success, the faculty may be eligible to apply for a tenure track position, with potential for three years applied towards promotion and tenure, through the standard recruitment process. A successful candidate will be passionate about program and curriculum development, committed to promoting the development of an equitable and inclusive learning environment, and familiar with CSWE accreditation processes. The Department supports a variety of contemporary teaching modalities including in-person, blended, and distance learning environments.

Employment is contingent upon the final candidate’s completing a criminal background check and being cleared to work by the Human Resources Office.
Employment is also contingent upon the final candidate passing reference checks and an essential job function test, as applicable.
The reference check process includes asking the final candidates’ professional references questions regarding employee misconduct, sexual violence, and sexual harassment.
Reference checks must be conducted at a minimum with three professional references, at least one of which must be a prior supervisor.
Final candidates with previous employment within the Universities of Wisconsin and State of WI agencies will be subject to additional reference checks.
