Responsible for the overall development and implementation of the education program in the classroom to keep the classroom compliant with state licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Responsibilities
- Lead the teaching team in the early childhood classroom.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the education program in the classroom.
- Ensure classroom compliance with state licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards, and NAEYC standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred degrees: interdisciplinary early childhood education, early childhood special education, early childhood education, early childhood development, elementary education (P-5), childcare assistant, child development services, individual and family studies.
- Related degrees: psychology, sociology, art therapy, child life, elementary education, nursing, speech therapy, counseling, human services, human services administration or program administration, nursery school teacher, university or general studies with emphasis in early childhood, physical therapy, occupational therapy.
- Experience levels by role (examples):
- Teacher I: MA plus IECE certification
- Teacher II: BA plus IECE certification; MA in related degree with equivalent coursework
- Teacher III: MA or BA in equivalent coursework
- Teacher IV: AA in ECE; BA in related degree field
- Teacher V: CDA in the appropriate area, Infant/Toddler
- Experience in early childhood classroom management, planning curriculum, and record-keeping is required.
- Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desired.
- Experience with computers is highly desired.
