Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Shrewsbury, NJ seeks a Teacher Toddler & Preschool to join a team that delivers a modern Montessori approach and guides young children toward their best selves.

You will formalize weekly lesson plans, align objectives to standards, assess progress, plan activities to meet developmental needs, supervise a teacher assistant, and engage with parents through the year. You’ll participate in staff meetings and curriculum planning while maintaining accurate progress notes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
• Montessori experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff.
• Experience with lesson planning and development.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for upcoming instructional periods.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and assess progress.
• Determine student performance using informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan activities to meet physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
• Use diverse instructional materials and hands-on learning approaches.
• Maintain accurate educational assessments and progress notes.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant in the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss progress.
• Attend Open House, Back to School Night, In-Service days, and staff meetings.

Location: Shrewsbury, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for the upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision-making concerning instructional goals.
• Determine students' performance using both informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program.
• Use a variety of instructional materials, including contextual, supplemental, teacher-constructed, and teaching bulletin boards, as well as audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child's progress.
• Attends Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings

Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors, including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.
