Apple Montessori Schools in Cliffside Park, NJ, is seeking a dedicated Teacher Toddler to join our Montessori team. You will develop weekly lesson plans, align objectives with standards, assess progress, and communicate with parents throughout the year while supervising a teacher assistant.

The role emphasizes Montessori methods, collaboration with a dynamic staff, and ongoing professional development as we nurture young learners toward their best lives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
• Montessori experience preferred.
• NAMC preferred or willing to obtain within first year.

Responsibilities

• Formalize weekly lesson plans aligned to curriculum standards.
• Relate objectives to standards and assess student progress.
• Plan activities meeting physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
• Use diverse instructional materials and hands-on activities.
• Maintain accurate educational assessments and progress notes.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant.
• Meet with parents about progress throughout the year.
• Attend weekly staff and curriculum meetings.

Teacher Toddler

Location: Cliffside Park, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for the upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision‑making concerning instructional goals.
• Determine students' performance using both informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program.
• Use a variety of instructional materials, including contextual, supplemental, teacher‑constructed, and teaching bulletin boards, as well as audio‑visual aids, hands‑on activities, discovery‑based learning, and activity‑based learning.
• Maintain accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child's progress.
• Attend Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In‑Service days, and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required (Elementary Education preferred)
• Montessori Experience (preferred)
• NAMC (Preferred or willing to obtain within first year of employment)

Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors, including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.

Salary

$40,000 - $48,000 / year
