JOB SUMMARY

This position plays a pivotal role in providing direct instruction to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as part of the Program For Exceptional Children within the District's schools.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • • Conducts assigned classes at the times scheduled

  • • Provides adequate information, plans, and materials for substitute teacher
  • • Maintains accurate, complete and appropriate records and files reports promptly
  • • Attends and participates in faculty meeting and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy
  • • Complies with conditions as stated in the Contract of Employment

  • b. Plans and coordinates purposeful assignments for paraprofessional(s), other supporting staff, and volunteer(s), and provides input to the administrative staff on the performance of these individuals.
  • c. Performs other duties as required by the District, the school, or student need.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to obtain clearance certificate from GaPSC.
  • Meets Georgia state certification requirements in Special Education.
SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS:

1. 190 day work year.

2. Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Georgia Annual Salary Schedule and position supplement(s).

3. Excellent benefits package (including health insurance; dental and life insurance; employee assistance program); personal and sick leave; membership in Teachers' Retirement System.
