Denver Public Schools is seeking qualified teachers for Special Education, Middle and High School Math, and ELA-S roles. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis via our job board at careers.dpsk12.org.

We offer a comprehensive compensation package, with a salary schedule for the 2025–2026 year and benefits including time off, health options, and PERA retirement. This position is represented by an employee association and requires Colorado residence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
• Master's degree required only for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
• Colorado teaching license required; CDE specs apply.

What You’ll Do

• Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement
• Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy
• Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
• Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District approved curriculum guidelines
• Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs and learning styles
• Instructs students individually and in groups using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions)
• Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects
• Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software
• Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators
• Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavior and academic problems

What You’ll Need

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• A Master's Degree is only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
• Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license. Click here for additional information regarding specific requirements and qualifications for the various subject areas (DPS does accept a CDE Application Receipt for 90 days.)
