Job summary

Bessemer City School System is seeking a Teacher to contribute to student development through subject matter instruction and skill-building in a collaborative school setting.

The role emphasizes planning effective lessons, maintaining classroom standards, and communicating with families and colleagues to support student progress under the leadership of the Principal.

Qualifications

• Alabama Teacher's Certificate is required.
• Ability to determine student and class needs and plan learning experiences.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians and colleagues.

• Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilizes instructional time to meet objectives.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Exhibits positive human relations skill.
• Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress.
• Communicates with parents/ guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
• Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
• Maintains and submits records and reports.
• Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
• Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
• Provides tier III services.
