Job summary

Enriched is seeking a School Age Teacher's Assistant for the Enriched site at North Smithfield Elementary School. You will help create a safe, healthy, structured space and support students’ social, emotional, and academic development, while promoting physical health and a warm, welcoming environment.

The role involves assisting with homework, collaborating with faculty, using an electronic tracking app, and participating in before- and after-school activities with flexible full- or part-time

• Experience working with children is ideal
• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher; CPR/First Aid certification preferred

A typical day for a School Age Teacher's Assistant will include:

• Working as a team to provide a safe, healthy, structured, welcoming space.
• Supporting students’ social, emotional, cognitive, academic development, promoting physical health, and providing a safe and supportive environment.
• Inspiring children to be lifelong learners.
• Helping students with homework and school projects.
• Partnering with school faculty and staff to provide a safe and educational learning environment.
• Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
• Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives.
• Playing games and having fun!

Our programs are open Monday - Friday before school (typically 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) and after school (typically 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), schedules vary per program.

We also offer full day programs during school vacations, summer break, and when school is not in session.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
• Team-oriented and willing to work with others.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16-18 years of age).
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
