NurturEd in Rhode Island is seeking a Teacher's Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment. You will engage children through reading, play, and learning activities, and partner with families to encourage lifelong learning.

Daily responsibilities include using an electronic tracking app, assisting with curriculum and assessments, and contributing to accreditation and quality initiatives.

A Typical Day For a Teacher's Assistant Will Include

• Working alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Engaging with children in learning - reading, playing, and having fun!

• Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
• Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives.
• Implementing curriculum and assessments.

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island. We have full time positions or part time positions (with flexible schedules available). Benefits vary for full time / part time positions.

Requirements

We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

• A personal demeanor that is warm and friendly.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
• Team-oriented and willing to work with others.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16-18 years of age).
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
