Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a dedicated special education teacher to support K-12 students with diverse needs in in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will use SESI’s instructional models, develop individualized lesson plans, implement behavior support strategies, and maintain required student records. This role emphasizes collaboration with districts, families, and supports growth, safety, and academic progress.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Use SESI’s instructional models, strategies, and curricula to teach knowledge and skills and nurture confidence.
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation, crisis management, and safety when necessary.
• Maintain student documents such as IEPs, BIPs, incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
• Drive, record, and track student growth toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise and monitor students, including to and from locations within the school.

• Maintain student documents such as individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
• Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise and monitor students, including to and from locations within the school.

Posted Salary Range

Starting from USD $50,000.00/Yr.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to run short distances and move swiftly in response to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often requiring the handling of up to 50 pounds or more.
• Skill in managing fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing, manipulating small objects, or using adaptive devices.
• Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily.
• Capacity to remain calm and composed during physically and emotional demanding situations, ensuring student safety and well-being
