Job summary

Teachers On Demand is seeking a Teacher in Residence to join our school community in Charlotte, NC. You will work toward full teacher certification while gaining hands-on experience under a mentor teacher.

This role follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with a 7:15 AM - 4:05 PM day, and offers a supportive coaching environment, professional development, and licensure pathways. Compensation ranges from $20 to $30 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field.
• Interest in pursuing teacher certification/licensure.
• Strong commitment to working with scholars in an academic setting.
• Ability to meet state certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support a mentor teacher in delivering high-quality instruction and classroom management.
• Work with small groups or co‑teach to support scholar learning and engagement.
• Help plan lessons, create materials, and implement instructional strategies.
• Support scholars’ social‑emotional development and positive behavior.
• Assist with data collection and progress monitoring to inform instruction.
• Build strong relationships with scholars, families, and staff.
• Participate in coaching cycles, professional development, and reflection.
• Complete requirements for teacher certification/licensure pathway.

Required Qualifications

Pay:

• $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
