In partnership with our families, we equip our scholars with the tools to close generational gaps through self-efficacy, access to world-class instruction, and financial education. Movement Schools is seeking a Teacher in Residence to become a certified educator.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equilvalent
• Associates degree (or higher)
• 48+ semester hours of college coursework
• Passing score on ParaPro/Work Keys Assessment (min. 455)
• Interest in pursuing teacher certification/licensure
• Strong commitment to working with scholars in an academic setting
• Ability to meet state certification requirements
• Commitment to Movement Schools’ mission and values

Responsibilities

• Support a mentor teacher in delivering high-quality instruction and classroom management
• Work with small groups or co-teach to support scholar learning and engagement
• Help plan lessons, create materials, and implement instructional strategies
• Support scholars’ social-emotional development and positive behavior
• Assist with data collection and progress monitoring to inform instruction
• Build strong relationships with scholars, families, and staff
• Participate in coaching cycles, professional development, and reflection
• Complete requirements for teacher certification/licensure pathway
