Olympia School District is seeking a Teacher - Special Education to support students with significant behavioral needs. You will implement district-approved curricula, adapt lessons to IEP goals, and document progress for stakeholders.
The role requires collaboration with parents, teachers, and community agencies, along with supervising instructional staff in a supportive, safe environment.
The job of “Teacher - Special Education” is done for the purpose/s of facilitating Special Services student success in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living through implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
This 1.0 FTE/One Year Only position works Monday - Friday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm.
This position supports students with significant behavioral needs. Staff working in this program must be comfortable responding calmly and consistently to challenging situations and working as part of a supportive team. Right Response training will be provided to the successful candidate after hire to ensure staff have the skills and strategies needed to safely support students.
