Loudoun County Public Schools seeks an elementary teacher to plan, deliver, and assess a standards-aligned instructional program for a diverse group of students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
The teacher designs learning experiences, monitors progress, and communicates with parents while upholding classroom expectations and LCPS policies. Collaboration with staff, teachers, and administrators is essential to foster student growth.
The Teacher plans, designs, implements and assesses an appropriate instructional program in an elementary environment that guides and encourages a diverse group of students at all levels to develop and fulfil their academic potential. The Teacher designs learning experiences, monitors student progress and presents the information to parents, develops assessments, creates and reinforces classroom expectations, works with school administration to prepare students for a variety of assessments, and manages students outside the classroom, such as in school hallways, field trips, etc.

The Teacher promotes healthy academic and social behaviours in children in a developmentally appropriate manner and continues to positively reinforce these behaviours on a consistent basis. The Teacher also fosters independence through the gradual release of responsibilities by allowing students to develop the skills to perform tasks without assistance.

Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Months/Days/Hours: 10 months, 200 days, 7 hours per day
Salary Level: Scale A/Licensed
