Job summary

Apache Junction Unified School District seeks a Teacher Elementary Kindergarten for Desert Vista Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary will be determined by education level and experience, with placement by HR at hire.

This is a full-time position reporting to the principal. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's/Master’s Degree and AZ Elementary Teaching Certificate or other certification.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive classroom environment conducive to effective instruction and learning.
• Provide learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and state and district standards.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for diverse learners.
• Communicate learning goals clearly to students.
• Facilitate small and large group instruction using research-based practices.
• Use available technology to enhance learning.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with state/federal law and district policy.
• Communicate with guardians regarding student progress.
• Participate in team reviews and use assessment data to inform instruction.
• Implement Individual Education Plans as required.
• Supervise students on school property and at school-sponsored activities.
• Adhere to district and site safety and discipline policies.

• Establish a positive classroom environment conducive to effective instruction and learning
• Provide learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each pupil
• Communicate learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language
• Facilitate small and large group instruction based on current research-based best practices
• Use available technology to enhance learning
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by State/Federal law and District policy
• Establish oral and/or written lines of communication with guardians to discuss pupil progress
• Participate in team reviews concerning academic progress of low performing/at-risk students
• Use site, District, and State assessment data to drive instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and/or intervention programs
• Effectively implement Individual Education Plans
• Assume responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities
• Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and conferences with guardians
