Job summary

Hartgrove Behavioral Health System in Chicago seeks full-time teachers to join a dedicated team. The role focuses on educational assessments, delivering instruction to patients, and developing interventions tailored to age-appropriate needs within inpatient/outpatient settings.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred), plus IL teaching certification with special education credentials. Experience with ED/BD youth is preferred; a sign-on bonus is offered.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient lesson plans, maintain records, and ensure a safe environment.

SIGN ON BONUS POTENTIAL of $10,000

Job Summary: Participates in ongoing educational assessments of patients. Provides instruction to patients while maintaining an orderly and disciplined structure in the classroom. Develops special interventions for patients unable to function within the classroom setting. Assists in curriculum development. Participates in patient treatment planning and staffingwhen necessary. Understands the basic growth and development milestones with appropriate interventions specific to the age and population served. Completes patient lesson plans. Completes and maintains all records as required. Maintains an adequate supply of appropriate instructional materials relative to patient’s age and functioning level. Participates in case management activities as required. Assures the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required, Masters preferred.

Experience:

One year teaching ED/BD children and/or adolescents preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

LBS1, PEL, Valid Illinois teaching certificate; certification in Special Education

Knowledge:

Prefer knowledge of effective teaching skills and educational strategies with a special education population, individual and group management skills, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and crisis and behavior management.

Salary/Benefits

Min: $55,000

Max: $75,000

Salary offers may be based on key factors such as education and related experience.
