Reports To: Principal

Supervises: Teacher assistants (may coordinate and direct their activities)

Purpose: Plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills contributing to their educational and social development.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Management of Instructional Time: Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment at lesson start; begin lessons quickly; maintain students on task; sustain high level of student time‑on‑task.
• Management of Student Behavior: Establish rules, procedures, and monitoring for interactions, verbal participation, and movement; enforce routines promptly while maintaining student dignity.
• Instructional Presentation: Review prior materials, introduce objectives; communicate clearly; provide examples, demonstrate concepts; give tasks with high success rate; ask suitable questions; pace lessons efficiently; summarize key points.
• Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance: Set clear standards; circulate during classwork to check performance; use oral, written, and other records to gauge progress.
• Instructional Feedback: Provide timely feedback on in‑class and out‑of‑class work; affirm correct responses; offer corrective guidance when needed.
• Facilitating Instruction: Create instructional plans aligned with school goals; use assessment data; maintain accurate records; support instruction with available resources.
