Job summary

Cumberland County Schools 412 Raleigh Road Elementary in Linden, North Carolina is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant (80%). You will support the lead teacher, provide group and individual instructional support, and help with seating, materials, and classroom management.

Qualifications

• All applicants must upload a resume and one of the following to qualify: college transcript showing a degree, or 48+ college-level courses completed, or 24+ courses plus WorkKeys with passing scores in Workplace Documents, Business Writing and Applied Mathematics.
• Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children.
• Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Gives group instruction as prescribed by teacher; provides individualized instruction.
• Demonstrates various instructional activities.
• Checks and corrects students’ work while in progress; keeps students on task.
• Praises and reinforces achievement of students.
• Reports student progress to teacher.
• Attends workshops.
• Reports attendance and enters data as required.
