Abilities First, Inc. in Poughkeepsie, NY, is seeking a patient, energetic Teacher Assistant for our LaGrange School program. You will support the Classroom Teacher, attend to daily needs, and help implement classroom activities for children of all abilities.
Requirements include NYS Teacher Assistant Certification and a high school diploma; experience with disabilities is a plus. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8:00 am–3:00 pm, 32.5 hours weekly, 48 weeks per year.

Abilities First is seeking patient, energetic and passionate Teacher Assistant for our LaGrange School program located in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is an opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team focusing on the educational programming for all children at every level of ability. Teacher Assistants will attend to the daily needs of the children, assist the teacher in carrying out classroom activities, and cover the classroom in the absence of the teacher. Experience within early childhood & special education, and NYS Teacher Assistant Certification required for Teacher Assistant level position.
Monday - Friday 8:00 am-3:00 pm, 32.5 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (includes a 6-week summer program)
Teacher Assistant Level I - $18.04 – $19.04 per hour
Teacher Assistant Level II - $18.77 - $19.77 per hour
Teacher Assistant Level III - $ 19.28 – $20.28 per hour
