Position Overview

District 211 is seeking candidates for teacher assistants in multiple areas and schools. Teacher Assistants play a vital role in the educational team, supporting teachers and students to ensure a positive, productive learning environment. This position involves working alongside professional colleagues to enhance classroom instruction and provide individualized or small-group support for students, including English language learners and those with special needs.

Qualifications

      • A Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement (Reference this ISBE document for information)
      • A Substitute teacher license (Reference this ISBE document for information)
      • A Professional Educator License
  • Prior experience in an educational or child care setting is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive hourly wage based with a starting rate on the Teacher Assistant Salary Schedule at Step 0 with no experience as a teacher or paraprofessional or Step 1 with one or more years of experience as a teacher or paraprofessional.
