Responsibilities

• Assists in supervision of learning activities and supports students.
• Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the Teacher.
• Assists in evaluating students' work and reinforces skills.
• Helps manage student behavior and classroom order.
• escorts students during lunch, restroom visits, and activities.
• Assists in preparing lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Coordinates with media center for learning resources.
• Maintains classroom bulletin boards and displays.
• Keeps and updates student records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists in the supervision of learning activities providing assistance and support to students
• Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the Teacher and reinforces skills introduced by the Teacher.
• Assists Teacher in evaluating students' work; works with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing skills based on instructional guidelines
• Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining class4room order
• Reinforces rules of the school and classroom; escorts students to time-out or Principal's office
• Escorts, supervises and/or provides assistance to students during lunch breaks, restroom visits and other activities
• Assists in the preparation of lesson plans; provides input and assistance in the development of classroom activities
• Coordinates with media center staff for classroom learning resources
• Assists in preparing classroom bulletin boards, decorations, displays, etc.
• Maintains student records
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience working with children
• Strong communications skills both written and oral
• Ability to work with children from Kindergarten through Middle Schoolstudents
• Proficiency with computer network systems and software programs
• Ability to use technology to enhance student learningStrong planning and organizational skills
• Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check
