Job summary

The North Ward Center is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support the classroom teacher in delivering educational and social activities for its assigned class. Under the guidance of the Site Director and teacher, you will follow the curriculum and help meet each child's developmental needs.

Key duties include assisting in daily activities, maintaining a clean and orderly classroom, attending all scheduled training, and supporting staff to create a nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent is required.
• Preschool classroom experience (1 year) preferred.
• NJ Sub Certification is preferred.
• Child Development Associate Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher in conducting educational and social activities.
• Follow curriculum guidance provided by Site Director and classroom teacher.
• Support all staff to create a conducive development environment for children.

Teacher Assistant

The Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting the teacher with all educational program activities for her assigned class. With guidance from the Site Director and the classroom teacher, the Teacher Assistant is to follow any and all curriculum's.

Responsibilities of the Teacher Assistant include:

• Responsible to the Teacher assigned to the classroom to which she is assigned.
• Under direction of the Teacher, will carry out the educational and social activities to achieve the goals of the center and meet the needs of the individual being
• Assist all other staff assigned to the center in creating an atmosphere conducive to the overall development of the children in the
• Participate in maintaining the classroom facilities in an orderly and sanitary
• Attend all scheduled training required for the position.

Salary vary with proven years of experience and education

12 months position

Regular Hours : 8:30am- 5:30pm

Wrap hours : 3:30-5:30pm

Requirements

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Preschool Classroom: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• NJ SUB CERTIFICATION (Preferred)
• Child Development Associate Certification (required)
