To teach by implementing a flexible program and creating an environment favorable to learning and personalgrowth by:

  • encouraging students to develop skills, attitudes, and the knowledge needed to obtain a good foundationfor continuous growth and development;
  • providing students with experiences which integrate the effective, cognitive, and psychomotordimensions of learning;
  • establishing effective rapport with students and their parents;
  • assisting students in developing positive feelings toward themselves and others.

Salary

Nine months (185 days) per contract year and appropriate placement on the District Certified Teacher Salary Schedule. The work calendar is subject to change based on any Board approved revisions that may or may not be Permanent. Reference: Alamogordo Public Schools Salary and Work Day Calendar

Conditions of Employment: Ability to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and, upon an offer of employment, complete an Employee's Statement of Health and submit to a functional capacity evaluation at the District's expense to determine ability to perform job-related functions and fitness for duty.
