Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Mississippi seeks an early childhood educator to design and implement developmentally appropriate activities and supervise students in a Head Start setting. You will lead classroom activities and maintain accurate attendance and education records.

Responsibilities include Brigance screenings, CPI assessments, and implementing IEP/ISFP plans. You will collaborate with teachers, report concerns, and ensure non-punitive behavior management across indoor and outdoor activities.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in child development or related field with 1 year of childcare experience.
  • Minimum: Associate degree in early childhood development.
  • Strong knowledge of theories and practices in Early Childhood Development.
  • Working knowledge of Head Start and State Child Care regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and set up classroom activities and centers based on curriculum and children's interests.
  • Provide constant daily supervision of children during all activities, indoors and outdoors; do not leave unattended.
  • Screen each child using Brigance Early Childhood Screen III 3-5 years according to schedule.
  • Develop weekly group lesson plans; implement IEP/ISFP-based individual plans within 2 weeks of screening results.
  • Conduct anecdotal observations weekly and administer CPI assessments three times per year.

Job description

Design and setup of classroom and learning centers based on curriculum, children interest, needs, and best practices.Providing constant and continuous active supervision of children daily during all activities, both indoor and outdoor and. Children should not be left unattended for any reason.Conduct classroom activities.The implementation of developmentally appropriate activities for each assigned child in each of the required learning domains.Screening of each assigned child according to prescribed schedule using the Brigance (Early Childhood Screen III 3-5 years) developmental and social-emotional screeners in order to meet the 45 – Day compliance.Developing Group Weekly Lesson plans as appropriate based on curriculum and children interest.Implementing individual (and bi-weekly lesson plans as appropriate) lesson plans IEP/ISFP based on screening/assessment results within two (2) weeks of screening/assessment.Conducting anecdotal observations weekly during daily activities for each assigned child for development and learning.Administering the Child Progress Indicator (CPI) assessment three times a school year for each assigned child.Assist in initiating a referral immediately to the classroom teacher, observations of children with behavioral concerns or suspected disabilities; maintain, record, and follow up bi-weekly, at a minimum, until referral concern is addressed.Record child attendance daily for each assigned child; reportabsences to assigned Family Community Worker.Maintaining and updating clear and concise Education Records for each assigned child.Maintaining order during indoor and outdoor activities continuously each day using positive approaches to behavior management. Corporal punishment of any kind is prohibited.Maintaining an accurate head count of meals dailyPreferred: Bachelor's degree in child development or related field with one (1) year of demonstrated experience in childcare, early childhood development or related field.Minimum: Associate degree in early childhood development.Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Early Childhood Development in Head Start. Working knowledge of Head Start and State Child Care regulatory environment.Demonstrated experience in childcare, early childhood development, or related areas.
