Overview

To teach, supervise and ensure a nurturing environment for Pre-K children. Also, to support the child-care program in providing quality care that will be safe, affirming, enjoyable and enriching to children.

Description

Responsibilities include planning and implementing the program’s curriculum and approved bible devotionals daily; ensuring equipment and the facility is clean, well maintained and safe at all times; keeping the classroom and class restroom as clean as possible (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing); turning in weekly lesson plans and newsletters to the Director of Childcare Services; following emergency procedures; supervising children with proper adult-to-child ratios as required by the State of Mississippi; establishing routines, providing positive guidance and implementing positive discipline when required; observing children and recording progress by developmental assessments; discussing child progress and maintaining open communication with parents; maintaining professional relationships with parents and co-workers; performing other related duties as assigned by the Director of Childcare Services and/or Director of Operations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age and bondable
• High School diploma or GED is required
• One year of instructional experience in a licensed childcare facility is required
• Ability to adapt to the center\'s needs and hours
• Current child/adult CPR and First Aid certification or willing to obtain
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Must be eligible and pass MSDH Background Check

• Must be able to lift and move In The Zone equipment properly as need arise
• Must be physically able to participate in high-energy activities with students
