Job description

Join the Head Start team to prepare preschool-aged children for school success. The Teacher will work with the Education team to create and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum in the classroom. Additional responsibilities include:

Daily Responsibilities

• Providing quality educational opportunities and day-to-day management of the classroom.
• Developing and implementing lesson plans for daily learning activities.
• Maintaining individual and classroom data for ongoing assessment, evaluation, and record-keeping.
• Be able to communicate with parents, children, and staff.
• Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have AA Degree or BA (in ECE or related field).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Computer skills (required).

The Children's Center of Cicero-Berwyn is a private not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) registered charitable organization chartered in the State of Illinois. All center based programs are licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and are accredited by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). The Children’s Center of Cicero Berwyn provides a nurturing, developmentally appropriate atmosphere for children, while supporting parents and caregivers in their critical role as their child’s first teacher. Currently, services are available in person AND virtually. The Children's Center of Cicero-Berwyn currently serves more than 950 families in Cicero, Berwyn and the surrounding communities. We provide educational, play-based childcare, full and half day Head Start and Preschool for All classrooms and home-based, child development and parenting programs. All programs are bilingual (Spanish/English).
