Job summary

Pavement Restorations Inc. is seeking an Asphalt Plant Technician in Knoxville, TN to perform testing and inspection of HMA and aggregates per TDOT standards. You will support plant QC through sampling, testing, data analysis, and reporting, ensuring quality meets specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Plant Technician certification preferred at hire or achievable within timeframe.
• Experience in asphalt plant quality control or materials testing preferred.
• Knowledge of TDOT specifications, mix designs, and QA principles.
• Ability to follow test methods and procedures precisely.
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect materials per TDOT quality control system and TDOT/AASHTO/ASTM procedures.
• Monitor plant production and verify alignment with JMFs and specs.
• Collect representative samples of aggregates and asphalt mixtures.
• Complete quality documentation and test records accurately and on time.
• Analyze data and communicate corrective actions to plant personnel and management.
• Verify material gradations, moisture, density, and binder contents.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory and testing equipment as assigned.
• Support TDOT inspections and audits and assist with documentation.
