Job summary

Buffalo High School in West Virginia is seeking a LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE High School English/Language Arts teacher to deliver a comprehensive English program for grades 9–12 in accordance with state law and county policies.

The successful candidate must hold or qualify for a West Virginia Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate endorsed for English, with AP teaching eligibility preferred; starting date is immediately for the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications

• Holds or qualifies for a West Virginia Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate endorsed for English (9-12).
• Willingness to teach AP courses if required.
• Experience in English/Language Arts instruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive English program consistent with state laws and county policies.
• Meet duties as outlined in the district handbook for the long-term substitute position.

Job Description:The LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE High School English/LA Teacher is assigned to deliver a comprehensive English program in accordance with state law and West Virginia Board of Education and county policies and regulations. The successful candidate must be or be willing to become certified to teach AP courses.

Qualifications:Holds or qualifies for a West Virginia Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate endorsed for English, English/language arts, or language arts at the grade levels applicable to this assignment (9-12).

Length of Employment:2026-27 School Year or Until the Employee Resigns
