Job summary

King County is seeking a TB clinic interviewer and public health staff member to support tuberculosis investigations and community outreach in Seattle. The role focuses on interviewing clients, collecting information, and coordinating care with partners across households, shelters, schools, and clinics.

Responsibilities include data entry, phlebotomy as needed, TB testing administration, and educating the public about TB infection.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of communicable disease concepts.
• Experience interviewing about sensitive information.
• Excellent communication skills that are culturally appropriate, respectful and non-judgmental.
• Ability to work with community organizations.
• Proficient in data entry and data management.
• Detail oriented with accuracy.
• Understanding of basic laboratory/medical terminology.
• Experience talking on the phone with healthcare providers/laboratories.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Interview and educate individuals with active TB to gather relevant information.
• Conduct TB testing, phlebotomy as needed, and ensure continuity of client care.
• Coordinate with private providers for client care continuity.
• Work across settings including households, shelters, schools, and other sites.
• Manage documentation and data entry for cases and contacts.
• Set up appointments for clients within and outside the TB Clinic.
• Coordinate interjurisdictional transfers of contacts for follow-up.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
• Communicate with supervisor, colleagues, and public in clear terms.
• Utilize Microsoft Office for reporting and coordination.
