Job summary

NYC Health Department seeks a City Research Scientist to lead the TST Surveillance Unit and Environmental Affairs Unit, directing staff and coordinating TB infection control across chest centers, shelters, and high-risk facilities.

You will evaluate airborne mitigation technologies, oversee outbreak investigations, write reports, and publish findings to advance statewide environmental infection control practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental science or public health.

Responsibilities

• Direct TB surveillance and environmental infection control teams.
• Oversee TST surveillance and environmental affairs unit staff.
• Lead TB infection control device evaluations and ventilation/UVGI decisions.
• Publish scientific papers and publish findings to advance environmental infection control practices.
